Cancer Wise, a charity which helps people living with cancer was awarded £4,700 to pay for therapists and counsellors.

Mary Carruthers, grant manager, said: “It’s been evident from recent grant applications that the smaller community groups that we tend to fund are struggling harder than ever to keep afloat in the current economic climate, so we are thrilled to have been able to give out such a large pot of cash this time around.”
