Long established Arundel group folds

THE 43-year-old Arundel Society has folded due to a lack of members.A letter to its members said: "Your trustees, having tried unsuccessfully during the past several years to recruit new members on to the committee, have reluctantly decided to wind-up the society.

"We have been without a secretary, which is a key role, for the last three years. The committee has been at a reduced strength of four, including the three trustees, for the past four years."

The society's remit was to 'protect the fabric of Arundel from unsuitable and over developments', whether they were new buildings, extensions or facelifts, which it considered detrimental to the appearance and environment of the town.
