Long tailbacks on A27 near Lewes after four car collision

Sussex Police are advising drivers to use an alternative route after long tailbacks were caused on the A27 near Lewes this morning (Friday August 2) following a four vehicle collision.

One lane was closed as a result of the incident, which happened on the A27 eastbound near the Ashcombe roundabout at 7.50am.

Sussex Police said a white van was in collision with three cars.

Police and ambulance were called to the scene near the Ashcombe roundabout at around 7.50am.

Officers said there did not appear to be any serious injuries.
