Louise races in memory of Nathan's life

A team of angels will help a dedicated Hastings mum take part in the Race for Life next week.

Louise Perez, 36, from Manor Road, will make the emotional 5km journey around Alexandra Park in memory of her 'special' nephew Nathan Austin.

She was inspired to do her bit for the cause after the courageous youngster died from a brain tumour in July last year when he was two.

The full-time mum will be joined in the race by friend Laura Warner and her daughter Charlie, but admits it will be an emotional time.

She said: "It was heartbreaking when he died.

"Nathan was such a beautiful boy and my sister is the most amazing woman in the world. I know I will find it hard on the day and I will be in floods of tears.

"My sister will be doing the Race for Life in High Wycombe as well with a team of runners, and we have called ourselves Nathan's Angels.

"I am not normally the sort of person who does things for charity, but spending time with Nathan in the last few days before he died has really moved me and has made me determined to help the people in need.

"It will be hard, but I know with Nathan looking over us as we do it, the angels will be able to do all they can to raise the money."

Miss Perez has been fundraising hard for the event, and already has more than 200 in the kitty.

The mother of four says being around people who have all gone through the same thing will be an inspiring experience.

She says the event is a fantastic occasion, which does so much for the charities involved.

Anyone wishing to donate can write to her at 62, Manor Road, Hastings.
