Louise's London Marathon success

Louise Rutland, from Worthing, has successfully completed this years Virgin London Marathon in aid of the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign, crossing the finish line in an impressive 4 hours and 33 minutes.

Louise, 28, was inspired to lace-up her running shoes and take on the challenge of a life-time, by her godson, Joshua, who has Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

After completing the Marathon, she said: “It was the toughest challenge of my life and I feel extremely proud to have completed the race. I wanted to raise as much money as possible for the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign who works tirelessly for current and future generations of those affected by muscle disease.”

Louise joined the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign’s team of over 100 runners who managed to help raise a massive estimated grand total of £250,000 to help fight muscle disease

The Muscular Dystrophy Campaign’s Events Officer, Julia Selby said: “What an amazing achievement! Our runners have made such a sacrifice to get to that finish line, training through the winter and fundraising in their spare time. The Muscular Dystrophy Campaign is grateful for every step taken and every penny raised along the way.”
