Loving husband Marty remembered

THE WIDOW of a man who died while helping his sister to move into her Bognor Regis home has paid an emotional tribute to him.

Martyn Taylor, known as Marty to his friends and family, collapsed as he moved his sibling’s belongings into her new home.

The 26-year-old, who lived in Horsham, was discovered face down on the floor by family as they made their way outside to unload the car.

CPR was given to him as they waited for emergency services – including an air ambulance – to arrive at the scene in Victoria Drive.

But despite the efforts of paramedics, Marty was declared dead that afternoon.

Vicky Taylor, who married Marty 18 months ago after they
moved into Hills Farm Lane together, has paid tribute to the family man.

She called him her ‘loving, family-orientated’ husband.

“He was a very loving and family-orientated guy,” she said.

“He really loved his family and friends, and he enjoyed spending time with them above all else.

“He was kind, generous, loving, funny and always good to be around.

“He was not materialistic at all, he just wanted to spend time with the people he loved, giving them his all.”

Vicky, 25, said her husband helped
his sister move home because ‘she was one of his favourite people’.

“He really loved his family and they were the most important people in his life,” she added.

“That morning he saw most of his family, including his niece, and I couldn’t really ask for him to have seen more people he loved on the day.”

Marty achieved
a 2:1 degree in Business Management at Chichester University.

He got his first full-time job at Sussex Newspapers as an advertising representative.

He then went on to become e-commerce manager at
AVS Fencing.

Marty’s life was celebrated at a funeral held at Worthing Crematorium.

Vicky said: “He was my life and he’s gone.

“I miss him so much and feel like there
is a massive hole, my entire life has been turned upside down.

“He was a great person and there wasn’t anything about him that warranted this awful tragedy happening.”

Vicky is considering the possibility her husband had suffered sudden adult death syndrome.

This is because he had no known previous conditions.

Emergency services attended the scene on Saturday, September 29, around 2pm shortly after Martyn collapsed.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said: “A 26-year-old man suffered
what is believed to be a medical episode
when he was moving furniture to a flat in Victoria Drive, Bognor, on September 29.

“An air ambulance was called but the man sadly died.

“His death is unexplained and not thought to be suspicious,
and the coroner has been informed.”
