Lung disease is a health issue that affects many of us. But many people in Worthing don't know that a group exists to help sufferers deal with their condition.

This is why members of the Worthing Breathe Easy group were handing out flyers and giving advice to passersby in Worthing Hospital last Wednesday.

With more than 50 members, the group is run by the British Lung Foundation and meets at Field Place in Lewes Road, Durrington on the second Friday of every month.

Garry Thomas, 55, who was at the event, suffers from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

He said: “There will be someone in Worthing tonight who will be struggling to breathe, and through pride they won’t go to the doctors.”
