There will be crazy, interactive art activities at the Fishersgate Centre from 4pm to 6pm, including a giant pantograph, which draws around people and makes miniature silhouettes.

These silhouettes will then feature in a shadow theatre, where visitors can see their own stories come to life with the help of a puppeteer.

People can join in Makedo Madness, creating large sculptures and objects out of recycled bits and pieces, using Makedo clips.

Join in the lantern-lit roller-skating, visit Santa’s grotto, tour the Christmas gifts and food stalls, and enjoy music from a Rat Pack entertainer, serenading with seasonal songs.

From 7pm to 11pm the centre, in West Road, will then host a band night, featuring acoustic sets followed by live band performances.

Schools, including Eastbrook Primary Academy and Shoreham Academy, have been making sculptures and lanterns for the event, with the help of award-winning community arts charity SameSky.

Artists from SameSky, which also organises Burning the Clocks in Brighton, are looking forward to showing off some of their artwork at Sunday’s free event.

Special guest, Adur Council chairman Mike Mendoza will be there during the day, disguised as Santa Claus in the Christmas grotto.
