Magistrates’ Court round-up

The following are court results from Hastings Magistrates’ Court for July 22 and 23.

July 22:

George Barnett (aged 18) of Chapel Park Road, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to being in possession of a quantity of cannabis at Station Approach, Hastings, on June 29 with intent to supply. He was sentenced to prison for three months suspended for a year. Magistrates also imposed a one year supervision order.

Paula Eason (aged 45), from Mabelthorpe, Lincolnshire, pleaded guilty to driving her Skoda vehicle at Beauport Park Caravan Park while over the drink drive limit. The offence took place at Acorn Drive, at the Park, on July 4. She was fined £300 and banned from driving for 16 months.

Jonathan Fernandes (aged 33), of Camber Sands Leisure Park, pleaded guilty to driving his Toyota RAV4 vehicle at New Lydd Road, Camber, on July 5, while nearly three times over the drink drive limit. He gave a breath reading of 91 microgrammes of alcohol. He was fined £600 and banned from driving for 23 months.

Povilas Augustinskis (aged 35), of Gravesend, Kent, pleaded guilty to driving his Volvo car on Udimore Road, Rye, on June 29 whilst over the drink drive limit. He was fined £200 and banned from driving for three years.

Ryan Colvin (aged 21), of Filsham Road, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to causing criminal damage to two Vauxhall vehicles at St George’s Road, Hastings, on April 25. He was sentenced to a one year conditional discharge and ordered to pay a total of £505 compensation to the two vehicle owners.

July 23:

Hissein Hassan (aged 40), of Stockleigh Road, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to driving a Ford Fiesta on Sedlescombe Road North, on July 8 while over the drink drive limit. He also pleaded guilty to driving without insurance. He was fined £110 and banned from driving for 17 months.

Walid Hiciri (aged38), of London Road, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to breaching the conditions of a non-molestation order imposed by the court. He was fined £50 .

Leon Martin (aged 61), of Church Road, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to driving without due care and attention by overtaking another vehicle on the Etchingham railway crossing on February 6. He was fined £30.

Savanna Smith (aged 21) of De La Warr Road, Bexhill, pleaded guilty to harassing a police officer be swearing at him and calling him a paedophile. The offence took place on January 28 in Devonshire Road, Bexhill. She was given a 12 month conditional discharge.
