Magnificent creatures enjoy day at the bar in Barnham

Owl's about that, then? Drinkers at a Barnham pub would have been forgiven for getting in a flap the other day.

For the function room at the Barnham Bridge Inn became the temporary home of four barn owls for a morning.

to familiarise themselves with its dimensions ready for a charity day this summer.

The sight of the owls is just one sign of the changes which licensee Chris Flynn is making to the village centre pub on Barnham Road.

They will be back again when she hosts a charity day on August 9 in

aid of the Observing Wildlife in Society charity.

She said: "People will be able to see and hold the owls. It will give them the rare chance to get close to animals they would not normally be able to experience."
