MAKE A BID FOR A BANK MANAGER

THE county's finest beasts will be on parade in Hailsham on Wednesday (December 6).

The 165th Hailsham Fatstock Show takes place at Hailsham Cattle Market.

Cattle classes include prize opportunities for heifers and steers of various breeds including those shown by novice exhibitors.

Lambs and pigs of several breeds will be shown in various groupings and there are 41 separate challenge cups and trophies for animals that display exceptional qualities.

Show secretary Sally Habberfield said: 'It's nice to see exhibitors still keen to show off their produce '“ against all odds in the circumstances.

'It is an extensive amount of effort to put in to get the animals up to that standard.'

The Hailsham Fatstock Show's annual dinner and cup presentation will be held at Herstmonceux Village Hall on January 13.

Visitors to Hailsham's Fatstock Show can also bid for one of six Barclays' managers.

The agricultural banking experts have agreed to spend half a day working in a rural business.

Visitors to the show will be able to bid for their services.

Every pound raised at the auction will be matched by Barclays' up to a maximum of 1,500.

The proceeds from the auction will be split between Demelza Hospice Care for Children and RABI (The Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution).
