SOUTH MALLING CHURCH: Has a service of Holy Communion this Sunday, led by Associate Vicar, Revd Jeremy Bamber. Church members have been asked to bring their gifts for Church Refurbishment on this Sunday. Meanwhile, development plans are moving ahead. There was a site meeting to plan the work to be done on the roof earlier this week. This is a good time to take a look at the churchyard. The carpet of snowdrops are at their best right now, with daffodils and primroses coming up quite early. Work is being done to clear patches of brambles before the spring growth starts up again in earnest. Sunday’s service will begin at 9.30am and all are welcome.

TENANTS AND RESIDENTS ASSOCIATION: The Malling Foodbank is now getting a share of the Tesco’s collection and is working with other Food banks in Lewes. As ever in Malling currently, parking is a hot issue. There are complaints about parking in visitors spaces in local flats, extended use of the Police HQ is often blamed for this growth. John Lamb, the treasurer and local councillor has been has been invited to a meeting in March for an update on travel progress at the Police Headquarters. On a lighter note, plans are being considered for a Street Party in June to mark the Queen’s 90th birthday, the association will check how people might respond to this. Discussions are also under way to launch another Summer Playscheme. The association is beginning to develop a head of steam now and is working hard for the local community. Meetings are usually in the Community Centre at 7.30pm. Please support them as they seek to make sure that Malling gets its fair share of attention from the various local authorities and has its concerns taken up and addressed. The next meeting will be on March 14.
