Malling

SOUTH MALLING SCHOOL: The school says it was lovely to welcome their Lemon Leopard parents to the celebration Stars Assembly on the first Friday of this new term. Each week a different class will be inviting their parents to the assembly so they can share our celebration of good learning. This term the school is focussing on the value of perseverance and linking it to the work they are doing on Growth Mindset. This is best captured by their song Yet which uses the phrase '˜I can't do it... yet'. Last Friday all the children had been invited to dress up for their BE (Business and Enterprise) Assembly. This gives them the chance to think about what they would like to be and what job they want to do when they are older. This is part of their whole school learning journey, The Apprentice. The school is very proud to be entering the World Book Day competition this year with a fantastic video that the children have made around the theme of what reading means to them. Take a look on the school website for a preview of this amazing piece of work.

SOUTH MALLING CHURCH: One of the Trinity Churches. Last week, despite the early morning snow, there was a good turnout for the Communion Service. South Malling’s Associate Vicar, Revd Jeremy Bamber was speaking about why God allows pain: it is one of the costs of free will as opposed to robot, like devotion. This week the service is Morning Praise, led by the church band. It starts at 9.30am and all are welcome.

RESIDENTS ASSOCIATION: The next meeting is scheduled for Wednesday February 3 in the evening. More details in due course.
