Man, 21, denies Bexhill murder

A 21-year-old Hastings man has denied murdering a pedestrian in Bexhill in July.

Dale Baysting, of St Helen s Road, pleaded not guilty to killing 59-year-old Robert McDowall, at a brief hearing at Lewes Crown Court on Friday.

Mr McDowall, of St David s Avenue, Bexhill, died after being hit by a car in the early hours of July 15, at the Wilton Road/Endwell Road, junction Bexhill.

He died from multiple fractures to the base of his skull.

Judge Richard Brown remanded Baysting in custody until a further hearing on November 9.
