Man arrested over Rustington early-hours assault

A MAN has been arrested in connection with an early-hours attack in Rustington.

A 23-year-old man was allegedly assaulted in Church Road, between 3-3.30am on Saturday (September 18), suffering head wounds and needing hospital treatment.

A 22-year-old Rustington man was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm later that morning, and released on police bail until October 23.

A Sussex Police spokesman said: "Police are trying to establish the circumstances of the incident and anyone who witnessed it or has any other information is asked to contact Sussex Police on 0845 60 70 999 quoting serial 271 of 18/09 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
