Man assaulted at bus stop in Brooks Road in Lewes

A YOUNG man was the victim of a vicious assault in Lewes, suffering cuts to his eye and cheek.

The incident happened sometime after midnight on Friday, July 6, at the bus stop on Brooks Road. Details have only just been released.

The victim, who is in his twenties, had caught a bus back from Brighton to Lewes before he was assaulted by an unknown man.

A police spokesperson said: “This was a nasty attack which left the victim with some serious cuts to his face. We are trying to establish the circumstances leading up to this incident and would like to hear from anyone who was in the Brooks Road bus stop area just after midnight on July 6.

“Anyone who can assist police with their enquiries is asked to contact 101, extension 33310, quoting serial 0017 of July 6.”
