Man attacked with knife during garage robbery

TWO men attacked and robbed a counter assistant at a garage.

The shop manager at Nutley Garage, High Street, said the men came into the garage and threatened the assistant with a knife, cutting him on the hand.

They made off with cigarettes and cash from the till and headed along the A22 towards Uckfield, possibly getting into the nearby churchyard at 6.40pm on December 30, police revealed this week.

Police said both men were wearing black balaclavas and were white, in their early to mid 20s and wore light-coloured hooded jumpers.

The assistant was badly shaken but did not require hospital treatment.
