Man charged in connection with West Sussex burglaries

A FOURTH man has been charged in connection with burglaries across the region.

Detectives investigating a series of burglaries across the South East, including 24 in West Sussex, have charged Lee Ash, 30, from Cheam, Surrey, with conspiracy to burgle.

Mr Ash appeared before Basingstoke Magistrates yesterday (June 13). He was remanded in custody to appear at Winchester Crown Court on Tuesday, July 9.

The charge is part of a cross-border operation by Hampshire Constabulary targeting burglaries in Hampshire, Sussex, Surrey, Essex and Oxfordshire between November 2012 and May 2013.

Three men have already been charged as part of this investigation.

Guy Harbord, 29, of Dulwich, London, was charged with conspiracy to burgle. He was remanded into custody to appear before Winchester Crown Court on Tuesday, August 6.

Steven White, 29, of no fixed abode, was charged with conspiracy to burgle. He appeared before Basingstoke magistrates on Wednesday, May 22, and was remanded into custody to appear before Winchester Crown Court on Tuesday, August 6.

Justin Collins, 34, of no fixed abode, has been charged with conspiracy to burgle. He was remanded into custody and will appear before Winchester Crown Court on Tuesday, July 2.

A 39-year-old man from Kent and a 30-year-old man from London were released on bail until July 8.

A 20-year-old woman from Surrey was released on bail until June 19.
