Man charged over triple stabbing in St Leonards

A man has been charged with three counts of attempted murder following a triple stabbing in St Leonards yesterday afternoon (December 7).

Keiran Keyte of Michelson Close, St Leonards, has been charged with three counts of attempted murder.

The 34-year-old will appear in court shortly.

Police were called to Church Road just after 1pm following reports that three men had been stabbed.

A 46-year-old man from St Leonards, was flown to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton, with life-threatening injuries.

He remains in a critical condition.

A 57-year-old man from St Leonards, was taken by ambulance to the same hospital with stab wounds which are not believed to be life-threatening.

Meanwhile a 22-year-old man from Bexhill, who was originally arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, has since been established as an alleged victim and de-arrested.

He was also taken to hospital with stab wounds that are not life-threatening.

Keyte is also facing charges of burglary, criminal damage, common assault and two counts of assault by beating in relation to a separate incident at an address in Michelson Close on November 8.

Detective Inspector Neil Ralph, of Sussex Police, said: “This was a shocking incident but we are satisfied that all of the parties involved are known to each other.

“Any witnesses can email [email protected] or call 101 quoting Operation Reading.”
