Man charged with causing death by dangerous driving

A 19-year-old man has been charged with one count of causing death by dangerous driving, and two counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

Sussex Police say Arthur Berry, of Stable Lane, Findon, was charged today, following the collision between a grey Seat Ibiza and a silver Ford Fiesta on the A24 at Capel on April 26.

He is due to appear at East Surrey Magistrates’ Court in Redhill on January 25.

A 17-year-old girl from Epsom, who was a passenger in the Seat, was pronounced dead at the scene, while a second passenger, a 17-year-old girl, also from Epsom, and the driver of the Seat, a 19-year-old man from the Worthing area, suffered serious injuries. The driver of the Ford Fiesta, a 24-year-old woman, also suffered serious injuries.
