Man charged with racially abusing bus passenger in Rye

A St Leonards man has been charged with a racially aggravated public order offence following an incident in Rye.

Anthonie Jamie Barron, 24, unemployed, of Pevensey Road, St Leonards, is due to appear on bail at Hastings Magistrates Court on Wednesday 12 February, charged with causing racially aggravated harassment alarm and distress to a woman fellow bus passenger, and with using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour towards the bus driver.

Barron was arrested after poiice were called to the bus in Station Approach, Rye, on November 25 last year.
