Man dies after being hit by train at Selmeston

A 43-year-old man died after being hit by a train, an inquest has heard.

David Alan Cobb, who was unemployed at the time of his death, died on the railway line at Selmeston on March 6 this year.

An inquest at Eastbourne Town Hall on Thursday (August 13) heard Mr Cobb, of Chanctonbury Road, Burgess Hill, was a paranoid schizophrenic who was worried about the coronavirus.

The inquest was told he was well supported by mental health services and enjoyed walking in his spare time.

East Sussex coroner Alan Craze ruled that Mr Cobb had taken his own life.
