Man dies following fall from East Grinstead bridge

Police have closed a section of the A22 in East Grinstead after a man fell from a bridge.

Officers were called at 11am today (Sunday May 4) to the A22 at College Lane after the man fell.

Despite paramedics treating the man at the scene he died later.

The A22, Beeching Way, has been closed between the junction with London Road and the Lewes Road roundabout while officers investigate.

The victim is believed to be a man from Mid Sussex.

The death is not being treated as suspicious.
