Man head-butted in row over parking space

A man was head-butted in an argument over a parking space.

The incident is alleged to have happen in broad daylight at around 11.30am on Friday in Garden Street, Lewes, near Gorringe's auction house.

Police believe an argument started over a parking space at the location, then spilled over into an assault before the two men were separated by police officers.

PC James Vitler from Lewes Police Station said: 'Threats were made to the victim and he was headbutted and punched during the incident.

'This caused facial injuries and the incident is being investigated as an assault causing actual bodily harm.'

A 64-year-old man from Worthing was arrested and released on police bailed until February 16.
