Man killed in East Grinstead factory accident named

A CRAWLEY worker killed in an accident on Thursday at an East Grinstead engine factory has been named as Robert Moore (54).

Police said he had a heart attack and died after he was crushed by a 13-ton engine in an accident at MTU UK plant while a diesel engine was being lifted be a crane.

Mr Moore was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detective Chief Inspector Trevor Bowles of the Sussex Police major crime branch said at the weekend: " We are continuing to work alongside the Health and Safety Executive on investigating the tragic death of Mr Moore.

"The thoughts of the investigation team are very much with the family, friends and work colleagues of Mr Moore at this awful time."

The company is involved in the marketing and selling of diesel engines and turbines.
