Man knocked out outside Hastings pub

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was knocked unconscious outside a pub in Hastings.

The victim, who is in his 50s, was talking to another man outside The Carlisle public house in Pelham Street shortly before midnight on Saturday (February 20) when he was approached and headbutted by another man.

He was then punched to the floor and knocked unconscious.

The victim was taken to hospital with serious facial injuries and is continuing to receive treatment.

Following the assault, the offenders re-entered the pub via the Denmark Place entrance and left together via Pelham Street.

Police are appealing for any witnesses who were at the public house that evening to come forward.
