Man knocked unconscious in Littlehampton robbery

POLICE are seeking witnesses to the robbery of a man in broad daylight in Littlehampton yesterday (Thursday, April 10).

Just before 3.30pm, the 38-year old man from Oxfordshire returned to his parked van in Wick Street, Littlehampton, having just collected cash for payment of a fish delivery at the fish and chip ship in the same street.

As he reached his van he was struck on the head from behind and the £479 cash in an envelope was taken from him by an unknown person or persons.

The man was briefly unconscious and was taken to Worthing Hospital to be treated for his injury.

He was discharged later the same day.
