Man robbed in Bognor Regis at needlepoint

A MAN was robbed by two men who threatened him with a needle in Bognor Regis on Tuesday, August 7.

The male was approached as he walked along Church Path at the side of Hotham Park about 3pm.

A Sussex Police spokesman said: “The men spoke to him briefly and then, as he continued out of the subway towards Upper Bognor Road/Parkside, the men caught up with him on bikes.

“One of them produced a needle, demanded the rings from his fingers and also took his rucksack. They then rode off back down the alleyway towards the subway.”

The first suspect was white, aged 25-28, 5ft 7ins-5ft 8ins, of slim to medium build, with a very short shaved blond or light brown hair.

He was described as having bad skin with pockmarked face and chin and a tribal pattern tattoo on the bottom of his left forearm and wrist.

He was scruffy in appearance and wearing a black zip-up jacket of shell suit material and black tracksuit bottoms. He was riding a red mountain bike and spoke with an eastern European accent.

The second man was also white, 25-30, 6ft, of large, muscularly broad build with very short cropped brown hair.

He had light brown stubble and tattoos on both forearms, possibly some form of writing.

He was wearing dark, possibly black tracksuit bottoms, a plain grey short-sleeved T-shirt and was riding a dirty BMX bike.

Anyone who witnessed the robbery, saw the two men in the area around the time or recognise the descriptions, should call Sussex Police on 101 quoting serial 1042 of 07/08.
