Man stabbed in Hailsham

THREE PEOPLE have been arrested after a stabbing was reported in Hailsham.

Police were called to a home in Diplocks Walk, Hailsham in the early hours of this morning (Friday June 24).

They found a 42-year-old man who had suffered stab wounds in his arm and back. He suffered superficial injuries and was taken to Eastbourne District General Hospital. Police said he remained in hospital and was in a stable condition.

Two men aged 57 and 26 and a 49-year-old woman were arrested at the scene on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. The woman is being treated at the Eastbourne District General Hospital for head injuries.

Detective Inspector Rob Morland from Wealden CID said: “This was a nasty attack between known persons and we are not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident.

“However, if anyone heard or saw anything suspicious at around 2am this morning please can they contact Sussex Police on 0845 60 70 999 quoting serial 0136 of June 24 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
