Man suffers broken jaw in assault near Lewes pub

Police are seeking witnesses to an incident in Market Lane, Lewes, in which a 51-year-old local man suffered a broken jaw.

The man says he was assaulted between 10pm and midnight on Saturday, September 26 near The Lamb public house, where he had been drinking earlier in the evening.

Detective Constable Sean Stapley, of East Sussex CID, said: “The man was treated at Eastbourne District General Hospital and we need to find out exactly what happened.”

Anyone who saw what happened or who may have other information is asked to email or phone 101, quoting serial 1245 of 29/09.
