Man suffers broken leg in paragliding accident at Beachy Head

A paraglider pilot suffered a suspected broken leg after a heavy landing at Beachy Head on Saturday (April 2).

A large number of emergency vehicles were sent to the coast after the crash was reported at about 1pm.

The man, aged about 40, had landed hard and injured his leg, which was thought to be broken, a spokesperson for South East Coast Ambulance Service said.

He was taken to Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.

An ambulance, paramedic car and HART (Hazardous Area Response Team) were sent to the scene.
