MAN THREATENS TO SET FIRE TO HIMSELF
A MAN was arrested for his own protection after threatening to set himself on fire outside Lewes Crown Courts in the High Street today (Friday) at 1.45pm.
Horrified passers-by saw the man pour petrol over himself on the pavement outside the courts and threaten to put a lighted match to himself.
Security staff inside the courts called police and the fire brigade.
Police succeeded in calming the man down and arrested him under the Mental Health Act.
