Man with head injury is named

A MAN found with a serious head injury on Kings Parade, Bognor Regis, has been named by police.

Robert Capelin, who is from the town, is currently being treated at the Southampton Neurological Unit, where his condition is described as stable but serious.

As previously reported on the Observer website police were called to a report of a man with a head injury at the Russell Hotel at around 1 pm on Tuesday, February 26.

The 55-year-old man was taken to St Richard's Hospital, in Chichester where it appears he discharged himself before treatment.

At 2.40pm the same day police and paramedics were again called to attend to the same man only a short distance from the hospital in Swanfield Drive.

While medics were talking to him he lost consciousness and was taken back to St Richard's, before being transferred to Southampton.

Police are investigating the cause of his injury.
