West Sussex County Council has arranged the drop-in for residents, parents, guardians and carers of prospective pupils and the general public to comment on options for the use of the sports ground by the new Broadwater academy.

There has been widespread concern that residents could lose access to the popular sports ground if the academy uses it for school activities.

A Bohunt prospectus had previously suggested the school would have access to the ground.

The 900-pupil academy, sponsored by the Bohunt Educational Trust, is set to welcome its first batch of pupils next September. However, construction work will not be completed until April 2016.

The drop-in is taking place between 4.45pm and 7.00pm at Broadwater CofE First & Middle School, in Rectory Gardens, Broadwater.

Anyone interested in the proposals is invited to attend the drop-in at any point to view the proposals and comment.
