The air ambulance and South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) paramedics were called to the airfield near Cranleigh - home of BBC car show Top Gear - at 12.46pm on Saturday (May 28).

A spokesman for SECAmb said the man, who was about 70-years-old, suffered a deep laceration to his left arm from a ‘relatively large’ model aeroplane’s propeller.

The injury to his lower arm was accidental, added an air ambulance spokesman.

The man was driven to Royal Sussex County Hospital in Guildford.

A spokesman for Dunsfold Park said: “Dunsfold Park is aware of an incident that took place on Saturday 28th May where a member of a model flying club sustained a cut to their forearm from a model aircraft. Dunsfold Park do not comment on the affairs of tenants at the aerodrome and any further enquiries should therefore be directed to the parties concerned.”
