Peacehaven Community School said it had seen many individual successes in its GCSEs, but added that results were down overall on last year.

However it congratulated students who worked hard to secure excellent grades across the board.

A spokesperson for the school said: “All of our students are special in their own unique way, so it’s always hard to pick out individuals to celebrate.

“However notable successes include Megan Foster, Kyle Lawrie and Robyn Suh who achieved ten or more grades at A*/A.

In addition Laura Christmas, James Hoad, Daniel Rowland, Peter Sowerby, Laura Turpin and Alina Vincent all achieved A*/A in 7 or more subjects.

“Stuart Camp deserves special recognition for achieving B/A/A* in all of his subjects in the face of adversity.”

Many students significantly outperformed their targets, including Guy Bolton, Louis Campion, Anyelina Gonzalez and Jack Norman.

The spokesperson added: “It has certainly been a year of change on the educational landscape, so we are proud of the resilience our students have shown.

“Their success wouldn’t be possible without the support of their parents or dedication of our talented staff.

“We hope they enjoy celebrating and wish them the very best for the future.

“Despite so many individual successes for students and subjects, disappointingly we have seen an overall drop due to the volatile nature of results, experienced by some schools this year.”
