Marathon man seeks charity sponsorship

BIG-HEARTED Dan Rundle is desperate to raise funds for comedian Roy Castle's Lung Cancer Foundation by running in next month's London Marathon.

But Dan, 36, of Magdalen Road, needs help in raising the required 1,000 sponsorship for the event on April 14. He said: "I only returned to Bexhill in December, after moving away to join The Army in 1986 and nobody knows I'm back. I went to Bexhill High School but would be remembered as Kevin.

"I'm sure all my old friends and contacts would sponsor me if they knew I was here."

Dan, employed by a social worker recruitment agency in Battle, has just five weeks to find the cash. He is a keen runner, taking to the roads of Bexhill every day. He is a former pupil of Bexhill High School and hopes staff, pupils and parents there might back him.

Dan, whose three children live in London, said: "My mother and grandmother died from lung cancer and it would mean a lot to me to raise cash for the Roy Castle Foundation."

If anyone wants to sponsor him contact him on 731116, evenings and weekends or email him on [email protected]
