Marquee marks out churches' Edgyfest

THE fourth year in succession that Churches Together In Bexhill have organised a major outdoor event brings Edgyfest to Egerton Park from tomorrow, Saturday, May 28, through to Bank Holiday Monday, May 30.

A huge marquee is being erected in the park to house an exhibition celebrating the Bible, and in particular the 400th anniversary of the English version published by King James. Visitors are welcome between noon and 6pm each day.

On Sunday, May 29 there will be two services of worship in the marquee - the first at 11am, Church Without Walls, hosted by Beulah Baptist Church and the second at 3pm, a united service for all on the theme: “Let’s celebrate the Bible”.

Either side of the second service, visitors are invited to picnic in the park at 12.30pm, bringing their own food and friends to share in the occasion, and at 4pm an anniversary cake will be cut and shared.

Further information is available by calling Michael Ensor on 01424 225918, who said: “There will be lots of people around at the exhibition to explain things and answer questions”.

He added: “The use of the marquee is a major change from previous years because it is hoped that any noise disruption will be significantly reduced out of consideration for neighbours.”
