Matching tattoos to mark Bognor couple's wedding day

NEWLYWEDS Clive and Lisa Hall's love for each other has got under their skin.

The Bognor Regis couple had their ring fingers tattooed with a matching simple scroll and the date of their big day instead of exchanging wedding rings.

Neonatal nurse Clive, 45, said: “We understand that tattoos are not to everyone’s taste.

“But they are an increasing aspect of popular culture and we felt a tattoo ring was more symbolic and meaningful to us.”

The husband and wife, of Victoria Road South, first knew each other at school 30 years ago. But they drifted apart and married separately.

Russell Hotel duty manager Lisa, 44, moved to Norfolk but returned to Bognor and was reunited with Chris through the Facebook website.

They married at the Inglenook Hotel in Pagham after being tattooed at Inked Effect in Rose Green.

“We’ve had a really positive reaction to the wedding tattoos,” said Clive. “People have left nice messages about them on the studio’s website and have spoken to us about them.

“And they mean we’ll never forget our anniversary.”

The couple already had a couple of tattoos each.
