Maths challenge for St Richards

Congratulations to St Richard's Catholic College pupils from Year 9, 10 and 11 who took part in the UKMT Intermediate Maths Challenge.

The questions in the Challenge are designed to encourage pupils to develop mathematical reasoning to solve non-standard problems.

Students from St Richard's achieved great success in this year's challenge; 5 Gold, 18 Silver and 27 Bronze certificates were awarded.

Year 11 pupil Max Winchester was awarded the best in college. Max achieved an outstanding total in the challenge and was invited, together with between 400-500 other year 11 pupils, to take part in the Maclaurin Mathematics Olympiad competition on Thursday, 19th March. Year 9 pupil Matthew Freeman, formerly of StRichard's, has qualified to take part in the European Challenge which takes place in 25 countries.
