Matt to help shape vision for wildlife

A FORMER Chichester man has just been named in the top 15 most powerful people in wildlife in Britain.

Matt Shardlow joins people like David Attenborough and Prince William on the BBC Wildlife Magazine’s list of people with the potential to change the fortunes of wildlife across the globe.

A former Chichester High School for Boys pupil, Matt is now based in Peterborough as chief executive at Buglife, the only organisation in Europe devoted to the conservation of all invertebrates.

Placed at 13 on the list, Matt was brought up in Melborne Road, Chichester, where his mum and dad still live.

Matt Swaine, BBC Wildlife Magazine editor, said: “These are the people who we believe will shape the way we see the natural world in the coming years and who have the greatest potential to deliver a positive outcome for wildlife both in the UK and abroad.”
