Mayfield girls win places at Britain’s top universities

St Leonards-Mayfield girls have secured impressive offers from top British universities. The students taking ‘A’ levels this year have received offers from Oxford, Cambridge, UCL, Imperial and LSE, with more to come.

This year’s ‘A’ Level candidates have applied to study a cross-section of subjects from English to engineering and medicine to modern languages.

Successful applicants are: Joanna Banasik - human, social and political science, Emmanuel College, Cambridge; Karolina Prylinska - medicine, Selwyn College, Cambridge; Mary-Rose Beamish - geography, St Edmund Hall, Oxford, and Amelia Gabriel - English at Lincoln College, Oxford.

Joanna Banasik was offered a place at the LSE. Erica Chan and Cecilia Yip have been offered places at Imperial College to read geology and biochemistry respectively. Both have secured offers from UCL, as has deputy head girl Valentine Godin (mathematics with economics.)
