Mayor Tom in bad company

...and there's not another politician in sight.

The undesirables in question are 12 to 15-year-old cast members of Durrington High School's current gangster-filled musical production, Bugsy Malone.

Mayor Tom Wye, pictured with some of the cast, gave his best wishes to the show before its final sell-out show on Friday night.

Alison Purvis, drama teacher, said "Bugsy Malone is one of our most successful ever musicals '“ ticket sales have been excellent and the local community has shown great interest in experiencing the high standards in drama Durrington High students show".

The headteacher, Sue Marooney, described the show as "excellent" and said: "We are exceedingly proud of all the cast who have put on such a fine performance for our community."
