Mayor visits 90-year-olds to share Queen's big year

Usually it is centenarians who take the spotlight but one Worthing care home has given 90-year-olds the chance to shine.

Worthing mayor Sean McDonald has been to visit two residents at Victoria Royal Beach, in Grand Avenue, in the last month or so.

First, it was Amy Chalcraft's turn, on Friday, July 8, then Clarice was treated to a visit on Sunday, August 14.

Tracy Bassett, manager, said: "It was all part of the celebrations for the Queen's 90th birthday. Residents who are 90 asked for the mayor to visit to tie in with Queen's birthday.

"The mayor and mayoress came to visit Clarice and brought her flowers and a birthday card.

"Clarice had all of her family around her and had a lovely day."
