Meet Bexhill's own Pop Idols!

MUSICIANS and business whizzkids at St Mary's College are hoping to rival the Pop Idols this Christmas.

A group of students were set a project to produce and market a pop single for their final year of a Young Enterprise Business Studies course.

And they've been overwhelmed with the response to their track , Enough Is Enough, which sold an incredible 200 copies in the first fortnight. The song has been written and produced by sixth-form group Reality, consisting of Mark Carpenter, Ka Lok Li and Mathew Sullivan. The students all have learning difficulties and Enough is Enough deals with the issue of bullying people because they are different.

But the hard work didn't stop when the track was finished.

The students had to market the single, dealing with sales, finance, design, leadership and planning.

The CD has already been played on local radio.

A band spokesman said: "The main aim is to challenge prejudice and to bring the band and the issues we are raising to the attention of a wider and more influential audience.

"However, by the end of the year we are also hoping that we can sell enough CDs to be able to donate to our chosen charities - the NSPCC, The Children's Society and St Mary's Children's Educational Trust."

Other students involved in the project are Stephen Webb, Holly Bonner-Williams, Lisa-Marie Harris, Frances Studdart, Alice Robertson, Jason Bloxham and Jack Hoskins.

Reality will be appearing at the Young Enterprise Trade Fair at Priory Meadow Shopping Centre, Hastings, on Saturday December 12 to sell and sign the CDs.
