Public involvement lies at the heart of a national re-organisation of the NHS which saw Horsham and Mid

Sussex Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) take over from the primary care trust on April 1.

Doctors are now in control of a £231.1 million annual medical budget for the 212,000 people living in the catchment.

Clinical chairman of the CCG, Dr Minesh Patel, said: “These events are all about explaining to the public what the CCG does, who we are and how they can get involved.

People don’t need to give up huge amounts of time to have a real influence on their local NHS services.

“We want to make patient involvement as simple and easy, but as effective, as it can be.”

Horsham and Mid Sussex CCG has responsibility for planning and buying the majority of health services across a large part of the county, including hospital and community-based care.

The three public events are on:

April 18 (10am to 12pm) at East Court Mansions in East Grinstead; April 25 (10am to 12pm) at Clair Hall, Haywards Heath;

April 30 (10am to 12pm) at Pavillions in the Park, Horsham.
