Professor Dave Goulson, a world authority on bees and founder of the Bumblebee Conservation Trust will speak at the event. Prof Goulson, a passionate conservationist, seeks to involve the public in his campaigns to save the bee, and will speak about the science and politics involved. A BEG spokesman said: “Bees pollinate one third of everything we eat and play a vital role in sustaining our planet. Bees have declined alarmingly due to habitat, climate change, diseases and pesticides. How can these sources of harm be reduced?”

Entry is free to BEG members, students and those on benefits or a £2 donation.
