Memorial hall finds a crafty way of raising funds to pay for its upkeep

Icklesham Memorial Hall was filled with colourful locally made crafts on Saturday.

A Craft Fair helped raise funds for the upkeep of the hall and the parish church.

On sale were crafts ranging from jewellery and pottery to essential oils, cushions, greetings cards and stationary. Visitors were also able to enjoy tea and cakes and the church had a plant stall.

This weekend sees Icklesham Church holding its Flower Festival and Art Exhibition. Icklesham Art Group and youngsters from the primary school will be displaying their work.

The theme this year is Crafts and Hobbies and 1066 Spinners will be there over the weekend to demonstrate lace making.

Ploughman’s lunches and cream teas will be available.
