MEN charged with string of offences against children

THREE men, including one from Worthing, appeared at Worthing Magistrates' Court this week charged with a string of offences against children.

Ian Jones, 43, of Rowlands Road; John Farmer, 66, of East Sussex, and Trevor Haddock, 54, of Worcester, appeared in custody at court yesterday (Wednesday) and their cases were committed to Lewes Crown Court.

Jones is charged with sexual activity with a girl under 13, making an indecent photograph of a child, arranging or facilitating the commission of a child sex offence, six counts of possessing indecent images of a child, three counts of distribution of an indecent photograph of a child and three counts of indecent assault on a female under 16.

Farmer is charged with arranging the commission of a child sex offence, conspiracy to commit an offence of sexual assault on a child, distribution of an indecent photograph of a child and five counts of possessing an indecent image of a child.

Haddock is charged with 15 counts of making an indecent image of a child; eight counts of possessing an indecent image of a child; three counts of distributing an indecent photograph of a child; two counts of sexual assault on a female under 13 by touching; two counts of conspiracy to commit a sexual assault with a girl under 13 with others; three counts of gross indecency with a child; six counts of indecent assault on a girl; making an indecent photograph of a child (video recording); assault on a female under 13 by penetration; two counts of intentional penetration of a child under 13; two counts of attempted intentional penetration of a child under 13; making threats to kill; three counts of causing or inciting a girl under 13 to engage in non-penetrative sexual activity; rape of a female under 16; and attempted rape of a child under 16.

All the men were remanded in custody and they will appear at Lewes Crown Court on September 30.
