Men travel from across the globe for reunion

PAST members of a boys’ brigade and battalion came from as far afield as Kuala Lumpur to attend a reunion last week.

This year’s annual service and reunion of the Brighton and Hove District of the Steadfast Association and the Brighton Boys’ Brigade was held at Southwick Methodist Church, in Manor Hall Road, Southwick.

Adur District Council chairman Fred Lewis, vice-chairman Carson Albury and Brighton deputy mayor Denise Cobb were in attendance.

Association president Peter Ford addressed the crowd, which saw many arrive from the south coast and London, with some travelling from as far afield as Kuala Lumpa in Malaysia. John Neil, president of the association, had travelled from Scotland.

After the service, everyone was invited by the Rev Ian Suttie, minister of Southwick Methodist Church, for refreshments served by the 1st Southwick Company of The Boys’ Brigade.
